On August 4th Utah County planners from Lehi to Santaquin joined Provo City Development Services Director, Bill Peperone, for a tour of the new Provo City Hall. Provo City recently opened their new 204,000 square foot state-of-the-art city hall building. The new facility was designed as an essential facility to be able to function during natural disasters and act as the city’s Emergency Operations Center. Planners also learned about new development in the area and the positive impacts this is having on Provo’s Main Street and University Avenue. The tour included a discussion of the unique NetZero design featuring abundant natural light and absence of the use of natural gas. There was a discussion about impacts on Historic Main Street as well as future redevelopment plans in the area.
