GIS/Data Scientist Intern

Timing: July 2025 – September 2025
Hours/week: up to 20 (with preference for Tuesday and Thursday onsite availability)
Wages/Salary: $17.00/hour
Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate student in the field of urban planning, geography,
data science, economic policy, and/or civil engineering. Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro is strongly
preferred.
Description: Work with the WFRC Analytics Group on a variety of projects that support regional mapping/analysis, travel demand modeling, and land use forecasting. Specific topics may include road, transit, and bicycle/pedestrian travel; housing, parcels, and land use plans; regional employment distribution; and economic development and regional quality of life. Skills and interests that may be called upon include: GIS and spatial analysis; Python coding and platforms for automating repeatable data processing tasks (R, SQL, ArcPro model builder, etc); statistics and modeling; and a general interest and understanding in urban/regional information systems.
