Planner I or Planner II

Heber City Corporation is accepting applications for a full-time Planner I or Planner II located onsite in City Hall in beautiful Heber City, Utah.
Applicant must have an interest in land use and implementing current and/or long-range planning programs of the city related to the development and implementation of local plans and policies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assists to coordinate the citizen participation process; meets with the general public to discuss planning, zoning, and development issues; assists the public to define concerns and presents public questions to management; facilitates resolution to planning, zoning, and building compliance issues; follows up with the public to apprise of city policy and decisions; assists in the preparation of meeting agenda as required; publishes notice of meetings.
- Prepares a variety of studies, reports, and related information for decision-making purposes; conducts technical research studies and prepares statistical reports and recommendations for drafting plans, projecting trends, and monitoring socio-economic data.
- Evaluates land use proposals and environmental information in comparison to established plans and ordinances.
- Communicate effectively with accuracy while enforcing regulations using fairness, tact, and impartiality, and enjoy serving the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in land-use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture or closely related field, equivalent land-use planning, zoning, statistical analysis of economic community impact data experience may be substituted for education.

The wage range for a Planner I is $54K-$75K; for Planner II the wage range is $58,773-$80K. Planner level will depend on experience and relevant education.
