If you’re passionate about creating places that match the vibrancy of a city’s people, history and
future, you might be the right person to fill the role of Community Planner with MHTN
Architects. We’re currently looking to hire a planner who can jump into our highly interactive
process and work to provide solutions to our clients in meaningful and impactful ways.
Essential Job Functions:
 Lead planning projects throughout Utah
 Collaborate with multiple disciplines, clients, and the public
 Research, analyze, and write, for a wide variety of project types including urban design,
comprehensive community planning, neighborhood revitalization, corridor
redevelopment, downtown plans, and small area plans
 Prepare visually-engaging graphics and materials for meetings and events
 Participate and organize public events and client meetings
 Develop narrative supporting planning documents and materials
 Assist on marketing proposal preparation
 Opportunity for growth within area of specialization determined by candidate
Skill Requirements/Experience:
 Highly effective project manager
 Excellent written and oral communications & presentation skills
 Strong understanding of the city and regional planning with experience in building
consensus across diverse stakeholders
 Self-starter with the ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and project
 Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, MS Office, and GIS Analysis
 Masters Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or Real Estate or
closely related field with 2-5 years of experience
 AICP Certification or progress to obtain certification
