Preservation Engaged is Utah’s annual statewide historic preservation conference. Our goal is to connect people and organizations actively working towards revitalizing, preserving, interpreting, and sharing our state’s collective history.

This panel explores how urban design practice is evolving to address climate resilience, mobility, public space, and community identity through more collaborative, interdisciplinary, and action-oriented approaches to shaping healthier, more inclusive communities.

The American Planning Association Utah Chapter is now accepting session proposals for the 2026 Fall Conference through June 6th, 2026.

The Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association is looking to recognize and honor planning efforts across the State. As part of this process, we encourage each entity that has undertaken or completed a planning effort over the last year to submit the projects they have been working on or nominate an individual who promotes planning professionalism in Utah.

This workshop will provide an opportunity for Utah planners to meet and discuss recent changes to state statute. We will spend some time discussing the new detached ADU requirements for Utah’s cities and towns, the training requirements for Planning Commissioners, and any other topics you wish to discuss! Rather than having a formal presentation on these matters, we want to use the time to ask each other questions and share insights and best practices from across the state. So bring your good ideas!
