Congratulations to Chris Hupp – APA Utah Vice President-Elect!

APA Utah is pleased to announce the election of Chris Hupp as Vice President of the APA Utah Chapter!

Chris brings three years of dedicated service as APA Utah’s Programs Director, during which he has played an important role in expanding professional development opportunities, strengthening member engagement, and enhancing Chapter programming.

His contributions include establishing a consistent calendar of educational events, launching a statewide mentorship program, supporting the continued growth of the spring and fall conferences, and contributing to Chapter awards, communications, and organizational improvements.

Chris has also helped develop four foundational educational courses—Planning 101, Planning Commission 101, City Council 101, and Leadership 101—designed to make planning more accessible to professionals, elected officials, and community members.

As Vice President, Chris looks forward to building on this momentum by strengthening APA Utah’s voice in legislative discussions, expanding mentorship and networking opportunities, and increasing access to practical planning education across the state.

He is particularly passionate about ensuring that APA Utah remains a trusted resource for addressing Utah’s evolving planning challenges, including growth, housing, water, and rural community needs.
