Dear APA Utah Members and Friends,

As I step into the role of President of APA Utah, I am honored to serve you during this pivotal time. I see the mission of APA Utah as follows: APA Utah must educate, promote, pioneer, and influence. These pillars will guide our efforts as we support our members and advance the field of planning in Utah

Educate: We will continue to provide affordable, cutting-edge educational programs, focusing on sustainable development and public health. Partnerships with organizations will enhance our resources, and we will establish APA Utah as the premier source of planning education.

Promote: We must ensure our voices are heard in federal and state initiatives. We will work to forge new partnerships, equip members with advocacy tools, and showcase outstanding planning efforts addressing contemporary challenges.

Pioneer: Innovation is key as we confront the novel challenges ahead. We will promote and improve the “APA Utah Planner’s Forum”, where members can share resources and strengthen the link between education, research, and practice.

Influence: Our role in shaping the future is crucial. APA Utah will enhance leadership programs, foster diversity, and strengthen ties with academic institutions to prepare the next generation of planners.

Together, we will ensure that APA Utah remains a forward-thinking, influential organization, ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. I look forward to working with you all to create resilient, inclusive, and thriving communities.

Sincerely,

Jason Boal , AICP
