North Davis County Active Transportation Implementation Plan: The North Davis County ATIP is a prime example of regional coordination to enhance active transportation between Clearfield, Syracuse, West Point, Clinton, and Sunset.
Category: Regional Plan or Other Regional Project
Award: Merit
Nominated: Brad McIlrath
Summary: The North Davis County ATIP brought together five communities to develop a collaborative, regional active transportation plan for northern Davis County. As smaller communities, each includes key destinations and recreational opportunities that should be accessible to all residents regardless of mobility. Each community is in a different stage of development with different active transportation needs, ranging from urban growth and mixed-use centers to rural to suburban development. As such the active transportation facilities needed within and between each of the communities must be designed for the local context and users.
