Nate Wiberg

Five County Association of Governments
Nate Wiberg is a senior planner at the Five County Association of Governments, where he has served southwest Utah for more than eight years. Nate is skilled at developing long-term strategies and has a passion for helping communities accomplish their goals. He has developed long-range plans such as Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies, a regional hazard mitigation plan, and community housing plans. Nate has administered several federal and state grant programs that have been crucial for promoting community and economic benefits to municipalities across the Five County region. Nate holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Ecology from the University of Utah and holds several certificates in economic development from Utah Valley University. Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, painting, and being outdoors.

2024 Spring Conference, May 8, 2024 3:45 pmUtah’s seven associations of governments wear many hats or have multiple designations and roles, including area agencies on aging, community action planning, economic development districts, regional planning agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, rural transportation planning organizations, regional housing authorities among others. The variety or roles and funding sources among the AOG’s provides for greater efficiency through economies of scale with the advantage of control and oversight by local elected officials representing 29 counties and 243 cities and towns.
