Greg Montgomery retired as the Planning Manager of Ogden City in 2022 after 40 years of working in the planning division of Ogden. He received his bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Utah State University when punch cards where used to do site analysis and everything was hand drawn. He took to heart guest lecturer Ian McHarg’s challenge for landscape architects to infiltrate all aspects of the design world. Through his planning career he has seen many changes in the community and was involved in everything from golf course development to trails, renovation of 25th Street and the Junction development, historic preservation and education to the beginning stages of the Make Ogden Plan. Greg and his wife Cindy have four children and six grandchildren.

Walking Tour of 25th Street. This tour will explore the changes that have taken place over the last 160 years of the evolution of 25th Street from Notorious Two Bit Street to the 2014 APA awarded Great American Street. Various factors such as social, transportation, historic preservation, private investment and redevelopment have each played an important role in the transformation of this street and of its perception in the community and region. Join us on this four block walking tour where you will learn the various planning and redevelopment programs that have taken place and are still taking place on the street.
