APA Utah Fall Conference Speaker

Greg Montgomery

Planning Division Manager
Ogden City

Greg Montgomery is the Planning Division Manager for Ogden, Utah. Greg earned a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Utah State University in 1980. Greg received his American Institute of Certified Planners certificate in 1991. He has worked with Ogden City for 40 years and has seen many changes take place in the city during that time from the construction of a downtown mall, to its demolishing and the redevelopment of the same spot into a mixed use development. At the beginning of his career, Historic 25th Street was an assemblage of 45 buildings on a two block area with only 8 of the buildings being occupied. Its preservation and redevelopment lead to it be awarded the designation of “A Great American Street” from the American Planning Association in 2014. The preservation of Ogden’s historic resources, especial Historic 25th Street has been a career long passion. Greg has been a life long resident of Weber County and he and his wife Cindy reside in Harrisville in the home they built together 38 years ago.
