Ben Johnson is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in various fields. Currently serving as the AVP of Facilities Management at Southern Utah University, Ben has dedicated 26 years of his career to the institution. His journey includes a decade-long service in the United States Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer in a Field Artillery Unit, fostering leadership skills and a strong sense of discipline. Ben’s passion for education led him to teach in the Construction Management Program at the University for 13 years, where he shared his expertise with aspiring professionals. Beyond academia, Ben has actively engaged in community service, having served on the Parowan City Council and currently holding the position of Iron County School Board President. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management and a master’s degree in Public Administration, reflecting his dedication to both practical skills and administrative acumen.

Campus Walking Tour of SUU »
2024 Spring Conference, May 9, 2024 1:40 pmCollege campuses are said to be ‘a city within a city’ and Southern Utah University is no exception. Join us for a tour of the SUU campus, led by Campus Facilities team members and planners and architects who have been working collaboratively to realize some of the most significant projects on campus. The tour will highlight recent plans for a Campus Master Plan update and recent infrastructure projects on campus in response to significant growth SUU has experienced in the last five years, along with coordination with UDOT and Cedar City to upgrade adjacent facilities to meet the long-term goals of campus. The campus landscape will also be featured throughout the tour, including how the campus is working to respond to House Bill 121, Water Conservation Modifications, while maintaining the sense of place for which the campus has become so well-known
