APA UT Fall Conference: Call for Breakout Sessions (Deadline Extended) & Award Submissions Now Open

Good News!
We’re extending the Call for Breakout Sessions for the APA UT Fall Conference through May 14 to give conference attendees more time to hear about the opportunity and submit their ideas. If you’ve been considering submitting a session, now’s your chance!

We’re also excited to announce that the Call for Planning Award Nominations is now live! Help us recognize outstanding people and projects shaping the future of planning in Utah. Submissions are due June 1.
This year, we’re accepting nominations for the following categories:

Public Outreach Award – Honors plans or projects that meaningfully engaged the public.

Outstanding Plan Awards – Rural, Urban, and Multi-Jurisdiction categories available. Winning plans will be invited to host a webinar or tour in 2026.

Planning Tool or Implementation Award – Recognizes tools or efforts that have created positive change.

George Smeath Planning Student Award – For students demonstrating excellence in planning.

Ted Knowlton Planning Leadership Award – For professionals or elected officials who’ve made significant contributions to planning in Utah.

Morris Johnson Award – Lifetime achievement award for outstanding service to planning.

Gene Moser Award – For non-planners who have made a major impact on planning in Utah.

Gene Carr Award – For excellence in planning education or training.
