What are the immediate and long-term effects of the triple whammy that 2020 has brought?  What will land use regulation look like two years from now?  What trends have accelerated and which ones have bit the dust?  How will we cope with a rash of evictions on the top of our current housing shortages? Negotiating development and annexation agreements, planning for strategic zone changes, and anticipating referenda will be discussed.  In today’s political climate, how does a project succeed?  What are the new roles of the City Council, the developer, and the neighbors today?  Recent case law and potential changes to the statute at the 2021 Legislature will be discussed along with specific examples of how the permitting process can result in a win-win outcome.  Jodi Hoffman, Moderator.
