APA Utah

Dear members of Utah APA,

As we welcome spring, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your continued dedication to our organization and to update you on some of our recent accomplishments.

First, thank our wonderful president, Tippe Morlan, and the entire Executive Committee for their hard work and commitment to our mission. I am particularly grateful to Chris Hupp, our new Programs Director, for his outstanding contributions in organizing events and networking opportunities for our members. I hope you have all noticed an increase in events and opportunities to engage with other members of APA.

Additionally, our hard launch of the EPG has been successful, and we will be hosting events across the state to engage with students from various colleges and planning programs. I encourage all students to continue to be involved, volunteer at our conferences, and find a mentor. Please do not hesitate to contact Mackenzie Johnson or Meredith Covey for any collaboration assistance or ideas.

Our Executive Director, Nicole Masson, did an exceptional job in putting together two excellent conferences last year. I am thrilled to announce that we will host conferences in Cedar City and Provo this year. Nicole has also been instrumental in securing grant funding from the state. We can always count on her to push us forward positively and provide a friendly face.

I would also like to acknowledge the hard work of our Legislative Committee and the position statements on bills that impact our communities. We want to hear from you during the legislative session. Thank you to Wilf, Scott, and Jason for their hard work.

Our Communications team, led by Ted Knowlton, has been busy ensuring you are up to date with all the latest social media posts. We hope to bring forward news and valuable content. I hope you have been seeing them regularly. Hint…Like and Subscribe.

Bruce Parker has been busy helping many obtain their AICP certification. Look for his training sessions in the Spring and Fall and consider joining.

I want to thank Michael Maloy for leading our wonderful book club and Susie Petheram’s work with Women & Planning and our Professional Affiliations. Finally, I thank the area representatives for their efforts in organizing local events and providing valuable insights into region-specific issues.

I look forward to the National APA Conference and to seeing you all there. Please get in touch with me if you have any ideas on improving our chapter programs and committees. I hope to hear from you soon!

In conclusion, I am proud of all we have accomplished over the last year and look forward to continuing to work with all of you to make Utah a better place for all.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Executive Committee if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to Utah APA.

Sincerely,
Meagan Booth
