Tim Stay is the CEO and a co-founder of The Other Side Academy, helping launch campuses in Salt Lake and Denver. Tim has helped oversee the growth of the Academy to over $10 million in annual revenues from 4 social enterprises and assets of over $40 million as the campuses have expanded in Utah and Colorado.

Tim is also a Director and co-founder of The Other Side Village, and oversaw the planning and construction of a self-reliant, master-planned neighborhood that provides affordable, permanent quality housing, access to social services, and a robust and supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. Tim has helped raise over $20 million for the Village, helped launch 2 social enterprises within the Village, and helped develop the “Human First” framework within the Village. Tim was also involved in the launch and development of The Other Side Prep School that operates within the Village.

Tim Stay was formerly the CEO, as well as a co-founder of Unitus Labs, an innovative non-profit utilizing market forces to alleviate poverty around the world. Tim Stay started and ran Marketing Ally, which became one of the Top 50 Call Centers in the U.S.A and had over 1,110 employees. He started and later sold FreeServers.com to About.com. He was a co-founder of Bizcradle, a business incubator, and later, CEO of Perfect Search Corporation.

Tim was voted as one of the vSpring 100 technology entrepreneurs in Utah and has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from BYU, the Social Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst and Young as well as from Utah Valley University, and the Social Innovator of the Year award from the Ballard Center at BYU.

2025 APA UT Spring Conference,2025 APA UT Fall Conference, October 10, 2025 1:30 pm

Salt Lake City’s South Temple and Central City historic districts preserve many of the city’s early mansions and ornate homes. Learn from city planners and developers about the districts and visit five recent projects within a few square blocks on a walking tour. This includes two adaptive reuse projects and the construction of three new residential buildings that add over 450 market rate and affordable housing units to this growing and evolving neighborhood.
