Christine Richman is the Director of Planning and Economic Development at GSBS Architects, with over 35 years of experience in public and private sector planning. She helps municipalities grow sustainably by aligning long-term vision with practical action. Christine has led planning, urban design, and community development projects nationwide, including the Salt Lake City Lighting Master Plan, and is known for creative solutions to complex challenges. She is active in the Urban Land Institute and was formerly the Board President of the Community Development Corporation of Utah. A passion project for Christine, the Japantown Design Guidelines received the Beehive Award for Planning Excellence from APA Utah. At APA Utah, she will moderate a panel on dark skies, reflecting her commitment to thoughtful, community-centered planning.

2025 APA UT Spring Conference, May 7, 2025 8:00 pm

This evening tour will showcase shielded and customized light fixtures designed to minimize light pollution on the Utah State University (USU) campus. In partnership with USU's Planning and Sustainability Department, the tour will highlight best practices for night sky-friendly lighting and demonstrate practical applications of these fixtures. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with panel participants from the earlier conference session.
