Dennis Marker has over 20 years of experience in various levels of government work. He is currently the Operations Analyst for Santaquin, Utah. Prior to his current position he served as the City Manager for the northeastern most City in the United States, Caribou, Maine (Pop. 7593). His career as a public servant includes working in real estate on behalf of the US Forest Service in parts of Utah and Idaho, working as a Planner/GIS Specialist for Sandy, Utah (pop. 100k+), and as the Community Development Director and Assistant City Manager for Santaquin, Utah. He graduated from Weber State University (Ogden, UT) with a degree in Geography with Urban Planning Emphasis and received his Masters of Public Administration from Brigham Young University (Provo, UT). He’s been involved in several APA award winning efforts for master planning, code development, and innovative projects including the first facility in Utah to reclaim 100% of its wastewater for general irrigation purposes. He’s been involved with the development of more than 10,000 dwelling units during his career. His greatest achievement has been maintaining the relationship with his spouse of 22 years, raising five children and recently surviving the planning of his oldest child’s wedding.
