APA Utah Fall Conference Speaker

Iris Henon

Iris graduated from nursing in England and after that washed up on these shores about forty plus years ago and started a career in fire-fighting in California. At the time, she wasn’t granted reciprocity to nurse. A few years later Iris moved to Utah, obtained another baccalaureate degree and started working for Weber County as a code enforcement officer which had just been created. Over the years she has worked with the IT department to create an on line program for special events, business licenses, and code enforcement. (I just tell them I want, I want) and they get their magic wand out and do all the technical bits! In 2003, she was given an award from Utah Ordinance Compliance Association Officer of the year in Utah and, in 2022 was given officer of the year from the American Association of Code enforcement, a national organization, so she now has her book ends. Iris has taught code enforcement officers over the years, which she loves to do, and hopefully learned from them as well.

Short-term Rentals: The Pros and the Cons »

2023 Fall Conference, September 28, 2023 10:10 am

Short-term rentals are a concern in communities across the state. As Weber County has worked with property owners and elected and appointed officials, we have adopted a code that will help maintain neighborhood character and allow for STRs in a well-regulated way. Weber County has also partnered with a third-party enforcement group to help gather information about STRs in the County and respond to residents’ concerns. This session will discuss the progress we’ve made in enforcement and regulation of STRs.
