Re-Opening City Facilities- Timing is Everything

With the weather heating up and public health and safety in mind, communities wrestle with some tough decisions about when and how to open recreation facilities. Do we hold off a few weeks to assure safety… or do we move ahead and implement all the social distancing measures we can? When faced with that choice, some cities may be questioning whether their original move was the proper one.

Thursday, ULCT’s will host a panel of guests with information and advice to share about the lessons they’ve learned while re-opening polls and rec centers, splash pads, and libraries.  Guests include:

  • Rec. Center and pools:  Scott Henderson, Provo City Parks and Recreation Director; Bryce Merrill, Provo Recreation Center Director; and Derric Ryker, American Fork Recreation Director
  • Splash Pad:  Matt Dixon, City Manager and Jon Anderson, Public Works Director, South Ogden
  • Libraries:  Joel Tucker, Director of Libraries and Alan Anderson, Assistant Director of Libraries, Washington County
