Jeff Coons, Landscape Architecture Staff Member at GSBS Architects Planned Conference Attendance – Attend only this presentation Jeff Coons is an emerging professional with experience in placemaking, native plantings, and understanding dark sky issues within landscapes. After receiving his Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of New Mexico, Jeff joined GSBS Architects as a member of the Landscape Architecture department. As a graduate student, Jeffrey’s master project and capstone focused on dark sky preservation and appreciation, blending art, lighting, and design to create a conceptual 24-hour park in New Mexico to showcase the night and encourage moments of discovery with the stars and the associated landscape of night.

2025 APA UT Spring Conference, May 7, 2025 8:00 pm

This evening tour will showcase shielded and customized light fixtures designed to minimize light pollution on the Utah State University (USU) campus. In partnership with USU's Planning and Sustainability Department, the tour will highlight best practices for night sky-friendly lighting and demonstrate practical applications of these fixtures. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with panel participants from the earlier conference session.
