Community Development administers all adopted land use regulations and policies, building and construction codes,
and fire safety and prevention codes and guidelines for the unincorporated areas of Utah County. Administration of
such codes, regulations, and policies includes land use ordinance creation and maintenance, permit and license plan
reviews and inspections, and education and compliance efforts.
Posting Date: March 15, 2023 Closing Date: March 29, 2023
Under the general supervision of the Planning Supervisor, performs County planning duties relating to zoning,
property addresses, census data, and other long-range planning matters.
Starting Pay: Planner I – $49,628.80 – $57,03.60 Annually
Planning Technician – $22.25 – $25.58 Hourly
Schedule: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday
Job Qualifications: Planner I
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Geography, Landscape Architecture, or a similar planning-related field.
- One (1) year of work experience performing civic planning activities.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:
- Preference may be given to American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) planners.
Job Qualifications: Planning Technician
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, or a closely related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:
- Preference may be given to applicants who have completed a planning internship.
