OVERVIEW

The Development Services department at Cache County Corporation is accepting applications for a Countywide Planner I or II to help build our community and is willing to work with a team of dedicated professionals.

Candidates will be considered for the Countywide Planner I or Planner II position depending on their qualifications and years of experience. The hiring range for a Planner I is $21.48 – $24.49 an hour. The hiring range for a Planner II is $24.42 – $27.83 an hour.

This is a full-time benefitted position generally working Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All benefits start on the first day! Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, Utah Retirement System, 14 paid holidays, and 18 days of Personal Leave in the first year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Countywide Planner, you will perform moderately complex community and regional planning work related to long-range planning and development, land use and transportation studies, community design, zoning laws, regulations and ordinances, and other planning functions as they affect the growth and development of communities throughout the County. The Countywide Planner’s duties include, but are not limited to, actively managing and implementing the Cache County General Plan; assisting with the resolution of land use and development issues; conducting and presenting research on issues related to long-range planning, regional development, general plans, and other planning and zoning issues, policies or community/urban design concepts. The Countywide Planner will also coordinate and manage the needs of participating entities that include 18 municipalities, State and Federal agencies, utility providers, and special service districts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Countywide Planner I: Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in urban or rural planning, public administration, or a closely related field and 6 months of progressively responsible experience performing listed or related duties.

Countywide Planner II: Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in urban or rural planning, public administration, or a closely related field; AND two (2) to three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing above or related duties; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. AICP certification is preferred. Urban design skills or experience is a plus.
