Tippe Morlan, AICP, and Meagan Booth have been appointed to represent the chapter in the development of APA policy guides on Equitable Economic Development, Legacy Cities, and Zoning Reform.
Both are excited about this opportunity and will represent the chapter well!
Policy Guides represent APA’s official position on critical planning issues and arm planners with the tools to advocate for policies that create great communities for all.
The 20 adopted policy guides can be found here: https://www.planning.org/policy/guides/
Tippe and Meagan received their first assignment this week and would like your input.
The question is as follows:
Is equity embedded in economic development in your community(s)? What federal and state policies or tools would help encourage the integration of equity and economic development? What local policies have been enacted to promote equity in economic development?
Please send your comments or suggestions to either Tippe or Meagan at your convenience.
We recognize not all planners are economic development experts so please share with others in your office and on other platforms.
We appreciate your assistance and time!
