After many years of stakeholder and working group engagement, Envision Utah released the Creating Communities: A Guide to Walkable Centers at yesterday’s event. This guide is an informative tool for city staff, officials, planners, and the general public to learn more about creating centers as a strategy to accommodate Utah’s growing population while maintaining our high quality of life.
A center is a walkable, mixed-use location in a region, city, or neighborhood that provides a variety of amenities and services. The guide discusses the major components and benefits of centers and provides some tips on how to bring them to life in your community. Utilize this resource to learn more about centers or to determine your first steps in implementation. If you have any questions, reach out to rbeck@envisionutah.org or makaylahr@envisionutah.org. |
