Get Involved!

We would love to see more of our members participating in Chapter events. Yes, that means you! We have the following volunteer openings we are looking to fill.

Programs Chair

• Lead the Programs Committee as a voting member of the Executive Committee at monthly meetings.
• Oversee the coordination of Chapter programs and events (for CM credit) in collaboration with the Area Representatives and other Executive Committee members.
• Host regular Programs Committee meetings to coordinate events related to the education and development of members statewide.

Student liaison

• Chapter member currently enrolled in college-level urban planning-related courses.
• Serve as a voting member of the Executive Committee at monthly meetings.
• Liaison to the Executive Committee and all students in the Chapter.
• Lead student events in collaboration with the Emerging Planners Group.

Membership Coordinator

• Develop and execute strategies for the recruitment and retention of Chapter members.
• GIS and Infographics skills are preferred, to present data on the location of division members.
• Send quarterly letters to members regarding new memberships, renewals, and expiring memberships.
• Reports to the Chapter Secretary.

Newsletter Editors

• Edit articles for the Chapter Newsletter for both content and grammar.
• Solicit articles for Chapter content.

Website Content Coordinator

• Actively look for planning-related content to share with the Chapter.

Social Media Coordinator

• Develop strategies for utilizing social media to facilitate discussion among chapter members.
• Regularly post to Chapter Facebook and Instagram pages.

Chapter Delegate

• Represent Utah at national APA meetings to develop new Policy Guides.
• Strong interest in legislative and policy issues is a plus.

Awards Committee Members

• Members interested in participating in the 2023-24 Chapter Awards program.
