2023 Grants Open Now!

Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant (UORG) – for new outdoor recreation infrastructure projects. This grant helps communities build recreation amenities that support local economic development. UORG includes the Mini-Grant (up to $15,000), the Tier 1 (up to $200,000), and the Regional Asset Tier (up to $750,000). Grant cycle dates: Jan. 17 – Mar. 17. 

Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Grant (OHVR) – The State OHV Recreation Grant is open to cities, counties, and federal agencies – as well as nonprofit organizations. Provides assistance to sustain, enhance, and improve motorized recreation within Utah. Funding varies depending on the category. Grant cycle dates: Feb. 1 – March 31. 

Year-Round Land Acquisition Grant – The Year-Round OHV Land Acquisition Grant is now open! The matching grant is intended to provide access and continued use for off-highway vehicle (OHV) users on new and existing trails. Allowable applicants can apply at-need for funding to purchase land, ROWs, and easements. A portion of funding can be used for title work, legal descriptions, and surveying of the land intended for purchase. Funding ranges from $10,000-$1,000,000 per application. Grant cycle dates: year-round. 

Recreational Restoration Infrastructure Grant (RRI) – The Recreation Restoration Infrastructure (RRI) grant funds the restoration or rehabilitation of existing and developed recreation areas and trails so the public can safely access them. Funds up to $150,000. Grant cycle dates: Jan. 17 – Mar. 17.

Utah Outdoor Classroom Grant – Awards up to $15,000 to municipalities, community-based non-profit organizations or publicly funded K-12 schools to fund the construction of outdoor learning spaces for Utah’s students. Funds up to $15,000. Grant cycle dates: Jan. 17 – Mar. 17. 

Recreational Trails Program (RTP) – is a federally funded grant program that aids in the construction, restoration and maintenance of recreational motorized and non-motorized trails. Funds up to $150,000 with only a 20% match. Grant cycle dates: Feb. 15th – May 5th. 

Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) – is a federal reimbursement grant program for the acquisition and/or development of public outdoor recreation areas. Requires a 50% match. Funds up to $2.5 million. Grant cycle dates: Feb. 6 – May 1.
